One of many exciting events
planned for Wolf Ridge Resort this spring and summer.
The Killington
Buyout Will Take the "A" Out of Killington - Just my opinion as
usual.
Will Killington Ski Resort Be Purchased By POWDR Resorts, the
owner of Park City Ski Resort? - We hope so as
Killington has more skiing and real estate upside potential than
any other ski resort in the entire United States. The resort has
stagnated and just limped along for years without a needed
resort village and upgrading due to the problems of cash starved
ASC.
Snowshoe Mountain is
Dixie's Best Kept Skiing Secret - Believe it or not, except for
this year, they average more snow than Park City, Lake Louise and much
of New England.

Resorts in Madison and Yancey counties. We will soon be the
leading mountain resort area in NC and it is time to explore all the
benefits and high mountain lifestyle options available in our resort
location just 35 freeway minutes from Asheville. It is time for a
fair and balanced guide to the area so get ready!!!
Homes With A View & A Conscience -
Some very positive press
coverage on The Peaks at Wolf Ridge and surrounding developments
from the Asheville Citizen Times.
Sugar
Mountain Oktoberfest on Oct 14th - I went last year and
the event was great fun.
Wolf Ridge
Ski Resort Expansion Is Amazing! Check out the new
slopes & lifts for 2006/2007 & 2007/2008. This is the biggest
ski expansion in NC in over 30 years. I live here and so can
you. Call Ron for details about Wolf Laurel Resort.

Hawksnest Continues To Fight On - We are awaiting a
response from the town politicians of Seven Devils before we
publish our comments. Read this editorial from Ski North
Carolina.
The Ginn Company Is Becoming A Leader in Ski Resort Development
Rather Than A Follower - First they buy a great resort
in VT at a low price and now they are building a private ski
resort in Colorado. As we've said many times, private resorts
are the future for affluent skiers short on time who desire easy
parking, no lift lines, uncrowded slopes and top-of-the-line
food, accommodations and entertainment in a private protected
environment. Read more about what we believe is the future for
the Private Mountain Club Concept written in 2005 here at
http://www.mountainhighclub.com/privateclubconcept.htm for a
"A
Four-Season Country Club Concept For A Select Group of Winter Skiers & Year-Round Mountain Enthusiasts
That Will End Crowds, Congestion & Lift Lines Forever."

opportunities and the many benefits of Wolf Laurel Resort and
the surrounding area.

and the Alps.
More News on New North Carolina Ski Resort at Phoenix Mountain
- Stay tuned as this is exciting news for Southern skiers
continues to unfold.
The Lodges at Eagles
Nest - A new high mountain resort with a private ski
area right beside Beech Mountain Resort near Banner Elk, NC. Be
sure to check out their resort brochure online as this is a
mountain action/activity resort club and couch potatoes need not
apply. Private mountain resorts will become your path to quality
skiing in the future. Successful professionals don't have the
time to park in crowded parking lots, eat mediocre ski lodge
food, wait in lift lines or fight crowded public slopes with
learning groups. You deserve better and here is the most
convenient private ski resort for affluent Southern skiers south
of Bear Creek Mountain Club in Vermont.
Locals Excited and Concerned About Ginn Company Development
Plans for Burke Mountain Resort - Burke Mountain is
located in the middle of nowhere in the Northeast Kingdom of
Vermont and I've visited there often. The Ginn Company purchase
is the best thing that could have happened to this habitually
cash starved resort. If you are interested in real estate there,
invest early!!!! A buyout with the necessary funding for top
quality development and amenities is just what Burke has needed
for a long time. The same thing is happening here to Wolf Laurel
Resort and this too will be a great benefit for the entire area.
Finally, A New Ski Resort Planned for NC With the Opportunity
For a 3 Mile Trail - Phoenix Mountain is rising up in
Ashe County. This will be the first new ski resort in the South
in quite a few years although several are in the planning stages
up in West Virginia. It will be a joint venture with
Vincent Properties
of Blowing Rock and
Prestige Builders
Partners, a real-estate developer from Miami Lakes, Fla.
This is great news for western NC and Ashe County. (Note, you
may be required to register with the Winston-Salem Journal in
order to read this news article.)
Ski
South Africa? -
Yes you can
ski there believe it or not. Question, where in Northern Africa
is there also a ski resort?
What Will Skiing Giant Intrawest Do? As you know
they own a number of ski resorts including Stratton, Snowshoe
and Mountain Creek in NJ in the East not to mention Mount
Tremblant in Quebec.. The problem is Pirate Capital LLC, a hedge
fund now owns almost 11% of the stock and they appear to be
pushing for value realization through a sale of the company,
joint ventures on the assets or sale of some resorts. Time will
tell but we hope they continue to provide the best ski resort
experience on the planet.
Snowshoe Mountain
Announces New High Speed Detachable Quad Lift for the 2006-2007
Season - This is
great news but we are still waiting to hear when they will be
developing slopes further around the mountain. Note Snowshoe to
our knowledge is the only ski resort other than Bretton Woods
that could have European style train skiing in the future. See
Is America Ready For Classic European Train Skiing in the right
column.
Ronald's 10 Best
Ski Resort Experiences Around the World - Unique skiing
experiences at great resorts in Europe, the western US and
Canada and two even down South in Dixie.
Tired of Eastern Skiing & Looking
For Adventure - Head up to eastern Canada. The #1 winter and
summer resort in North American is
Mont Tremblant in
Quebec, Canada. With Intrawest's expansion plans it will over time
possibly rival
Vail and Whistler. While there make sure you visit the
N'ice Club,
an ice and snow lounge, as well as
enjoying the slopes.
If you want to push your comfort
level a little more, head up to
Marble Mountain in Newfoundland. They claim to have the best skiing
east of the Rockies but check out the snow conditions and weather first.
They are far North but the resort is almost at sea level.
I confess that I haven't skied Marble yet but hope to do so soon!

Snowshoe Mountain WV Now 100% Open!
- Snowshoe is the best ski resort
South of Vermont and New Hampshire and always my favorite as we formerly
owned a condo at Highland House.
Ginn Company Promises Quality Development At Burke Mountain Vermont
- We are hoping for the best for Burke as it has long been one of my
favorite Vermont ski resorts and where we used to visit to avoid the
more crowded resorts over holiday periods.

Expansion Plans For Wolf Laurel Ski Resort - Rick Bussey and
Orville English plan new mountain-top villages and two additional lifts
and more slopes. Again, we believe Wolf Laurel Ski Resort may soon
become the largest ski resort South of Snowshoe Mountain, WV.
Ski South
- Shrewd resorts succeed
through smart technology and savvy investment down here in the South.
Major rumors about big expansion plans at Hawksnest Resort near Banner
Elk.
Wisp Expands It's Skiing Terrain By 30% - We urge our readers to visit
Wisp as this unique 4-season
vacation area combines an expanding ski resort with a lakefront
environment. In addition, they are building a recirculating Other than
in Lake Placid, NY, only
Mount Tremblant in Quebec provides this kind of snow/lake front
resort experience.
Loon Resort in NH Plans Major Expansion
- I've visited Loon many
times and it is a New England Resort worthy of your attention. If you
plan a ski trip to New Hampshire, we suggest you combine Loon with a
visit to Bretton Woods Ski Resort
at Mount Washington. Then you can go back over 50 years in ski
technology and ride their new ski train up Mountain Washington and ski
down beside the tracks. See last years article,
Is
America Ready For Classic European Train Skiing?
Czech Skiing? - Having just returned from Prague, I must say the
capital is one of my favorite cities in Europe next to Salzburg,
Austria. Czech skiing certainly isn't up to Swiss or Austrian
standards, then again, neither are the prices.
